Another modification I used was adding a half. Seems cooks have had trouble making 'balls'. These falafels are the closest thing to NYC street vendor falafels! Made the traditional way with dried soaked chickpeas!

Steps to make Falafels:
  1. Gather all your ingredients together
  2. Place all ingredients apart from cooking oil into a food processor. Pulse until you get a texture that is slightly rough.
  3. Put in a bowl, place in a fridge or a cool place for 30 minutes.
  4. Using a tablespoon or your hands, scoop the mixture and shape into balls or disks.
  5. Heat cooking oil in a cooking pot.
  6. Deep fry the falafels until they turn a beautiful brown colour each side.
  7. Remove from oil and enjoy it cold, warm or hot.

Great on a pita with lettuce, cucumber and yogurt. Asafoetida is usually found in Middle Eastern or Indian food stores. Fry falafels until golden, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and season immediately with salt. To make yogurt sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, oil, and dill. Dry chickpeas are naturally starchy and will help your falafels to stay well formed.
