Pesarattu is one of the most favored of recent trending foods on earth. It’s simple, it is quick, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Pesarattu is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

Pesarattu is a protein packed healthy breakfast made using whole green gram and spices. It is one of the most commonly eaten Breakfasts from Andhra cuisine. In most Telugu speaking traditional households, pesarattu is eaten with this allam pachadi.

To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can cook pesarattu using 5 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Pesarattu:
  1. Take moong bean
  2. Take salt
  3. Get red chilli powder
  4. Get hing
  5. Get oil

They are Vegan as well as Gluten-free. Pesarattu is a dosa made with Pesara Pappu (moong dal). You use the moong dal with skin on and this is what gives this dosa the classic green color. Of course this dosa is high in protein and fiber.

Steps to make Pesarattu:
  1. Wash and soak Moong over night.
  2. Tie in cotton cloth for 4 hours
  3. Sprouts will come.
  4. Now grind in mixer.
  5. Add spices and add water accordingly.
  6. Now spread 1 table spoon batter on non stick tawa in round shape.
  7. Gas flame should be low.
  8. When one side is baked, flip and bake from other side.
  9. Bake from both sides with the help of little oil.
  10. Serve hot

Serve it with upma rolled inside and it becomes an 'MLA pesarattu'. For making Pesarattu: Heat the dosa griddle until medium hot. Add ⅓ cup batter and swirl to completely cover the dosa griddle. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of oil or ghee to the pesarattu. Cook until underside of the pesarattu dosa is golden brown.
