Pesarattu is a protein packed healthy breakfast made using whole green gram and spices. It is one of the most commonly eaten Breakfasts from Andhra cuisine. In most Telugu speaking traditional households, pesarattu is eaten with this allam pachadi.

Pesarattu is one of the most favored of current trending meals on earth. It is appreciated by millions every day. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. Pesarattu is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They are nice and they look wonderful.

To begin with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have pesarattu using 10 ingredients and 8 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Pesarattu:
  1. Prepare Green gram soaked overnight
  2. Take Rice flour
  3. Prepare Chopped capsicum
  4. Take Chopped carrot
  5. Prepare Chopped bell peppers
  6. Get Grated ginger
  7. Get Chopped green chilly
  8. Make ready Salt
  9. Make ready Garam masala
  10. Take Oil to cook

They are Vegan as well as Gluten-free. Pesarattu is a dosa made with Pesara Pappu (moong dal). You use the moong dal with skin on and this is what gives this dosa the classic green color. Of course this dosa is high in protein and fiber.

Instructions to make Pesarattu:
  1. Grind smooth paste of soaked green grams.
  2. Add rice flour to it & add water to make a dropping consistency batter.
  3. Add chopped vegetables to this batter.
  4. Add salt & garam masala to batter. Mix it properly & check again if it is of dropping consistency.
  5. Set a non-stick flat pan on gas stove. With stove on high flame, pour batter with a ladle & spread it to a thin layer using base of ladle.
  6. Sprinkle some olive oil (or ghee or any other that you use for cooking) & put stove on simmer.
  7. Once it firms up, scrape it using wooden ladle & cook from other side.
  8. Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato ketchup.

Serve it with upma rolled inside and it becomes an 'MLA pesarattu'. For making Pesarattu: Heat the dosa griddle until medium hot. Add ⅓ cup batter and swirl to completely cover the dosa griddle. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of oil or ghee to the pesarattu. Cook until underside of the pesarattu dosa is golden brown.
