Pesarattu is a protein packed healthy breakfast made using whole green gram and spices. It is one of the most commonly eaten Breakfasts from Andhra cuisine. In most Telugu speaking traditional households, pesarattu is eaten with this allam pachadi.

Pesarattu is one of the most popular of recent trending meals on earth. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. It is simple, it is fast, it tastes delicious. They are fine and they look wonderful. Pesarattu is something which I’ve loved my whole life.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few components. You can have pesarattu using 7 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.

The ingredients needed to make Pesarattu:
  1. Make ready moong sabut
  2. Get moong dal
  3. Prepare Green chillies
  4. Make ready fresh ginger
  5. Get Jeera
  6. Get Salt
  7. Take Chopped onion

They are Vegan as well as Gluten-free. Pesarattu is a dosa made with Pesara Pappu (moong dal). You use the moong dal with skin on and this is what gives this dosa the classic green color. Of course this dosa is high in protein and fiber.

Steps to make Pesarattu:
  1. Soak the dals overnight
  2. Except onion grind all other ingredients with sufficient water to make as dosa batter
  3. Roast onion in oil with salt.Add chopped chillies also. Grated carrot can also be added for attractive colour
  4. Pour the batter on a ladle, cook on a low flame, flip and cook nicely.
  5. Flip again and smear with red ginger chutney and fried onion masala
  6. Fold and serve hot

Serve it with upma rolled inside and it becomes an 'MLA pesarattu'. For making Pesarattu: Heat the dosa griddle until medium hot. Add ⅓ cup batter and swirl to completely cover the dosa griddle. Sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of oil or ghee to the pesarattu. Cook until underside of the pesarattu dosa is golden brown.
