How is it made? pesarattu dosa is one such famous dosa from telugu cuisine but has spread all over south india. i was exposed to this recipe from my mother who spent her college days in guntur. even though her stay in guntur was very brief, but she has developed a great taste for andhra veg cuisine and especially pesarattu.

  2. Get fistfuls fresh paalak
  3. Make ready rice

  7. Prepare Cumin seeds

No need of fermenting the batter. You can use the batter straightway after grinding. Pesarattu dosa can be made with whole moong beans or split yellow moong lentils. I usually make Pesarattu dosa with both whole green moong dal and the split husked yellow mung lentils.

Instructions to make Pesarattu Dosa

  1. Wash and Soak green moongbeans for 8 hrs.wash and Soak rice for 4 hours.wash paalak and Chop it.Chop onion.In a mixi jar add Soaked Moong beans,rice,chillies,Ginger and Chopped paalak.(green fresh methi or Coriander can also be used.)Add some water.
  2. Blend smooth batter.Take out the mixture in a mixing bowl.Add Cumin seeds,salt,chopped onion.Mix well.If needed add water to make batter of dosa like consistency.On a hot griddle,sprinkle some water,then wipe it.Keep the flame medium.spread batter on it.Apply oil in center and surrounding.
  3. When cooked,flip it to other side and Cook till golden brown and crisp.Serve hot with coconut chutney.

Pesarattu or Moong dal Dosa is a savory crepe made with whole mung beans (green gram lentils). A popular breakfast dish from Andhra, this batter does not require any fermentation. It is a healthy, tasty and whole some dish which is enjoyed with upma and allam chutney (ginger chutney). Pesarattu dosa is made with moong dal. This dosa does not need fermentation like the traditional dosa.
