Just one main ingredient - Unlike a dosa batter which needs rice and urad dal, this has only one ingredient to soak - i.e. the green moong. Some recipes do recommend adding some rice to the green moong while soaking. Rice gives a crispy texture to pesarattu. You can make Moong Dal dosa as thin or thick as you prefer.

Steps to make Pesarattu masala dosa:
  1. Soak Green moong dal + Channa dal + puffed rice for 4-6 hours. Less soaking time will give you crispier dosa.
  2. In a mixer grind the soaked ingredients + cumin seeds+ ginger + chilli. Grind it smooth.
  3. Prepare masala as stuffing for pesarattu dosa. You can see my masala dosa recipe for steps. This is optional to enhance the pesarattu dosa.
  4. Now add chopped onions + hing + salt + jaggery to the pesarattu batter and add water if required.
  5. In a dosa pan brush some oil and pour the batter. Add masala on top of it. Roast it on both the sides
