  12. Make ready 2 cooking spoon of palm oil

I really like the taste of porridge beans especially when it is made with ripe plantain, I only learned recently to fry the plantain instead of the old way of adding them to the cooking beans. This mung bean multigrain porridge can be cooked on auto mode in a rice cooker (with the Porridge mode), or on the stove top. I always cook this porridge in the rice cooker, but for the purpose of taking photos for the blog, I'm using a clear glass pot. Add soaked beans, washed grains & rice and water to the pot.

  2. In a clean bowl put your beans wash and soak with hot water for 30 minutes
  3. Wash your red pepper, scotch bonnet,onions, tomatoes, nutmeg and garlic and grind all together
  4. Put ur ground kayan Miya and palm oil and stir fry add in ur seasonings and water as required,fried fish,and boiled beef meat, cover and allow to cook
  5. Put ur soaked beans cook for an hour on a medium heat
  6. Serve

There are different methods of cooking beans porridge in Nigeria. Different Nigerian tribes cook beans differently. I am not Yoruba but my favourite method of cooking beans porridge is the Yoruba method. The porridge looks so soft and inviting, It looks so mashed you don't even need to chew. Heat vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
