The ingredients needed to make Naan:
  1. Get flour
  2. Get yeast
  3. Make ready baking powder
  4. Make ready salt
  5. Take sugar
  6. Get yoghurt
  7. Take oil
  8. Prepare warm water or milk

Traditionally they are baked inside a very hot clay tandoor oven, with charcoal or wood fire. The naan bread are stuck to the inside of the oven just like the picture below. Remove the naan from the skillet, brush with a bit of butter and sprinkle with a little coarse sea salt. Place the naan in a tea towel-lined dish.

Instructions to make Naan:
  1. In a bowl put flour,baking powder,yeast,salt,sugar and oil.
  2. Mix all together.
  3. Add yoghurt and start folding in, gradually add the warm water or milk until dough is formed.
  4. Place it in oiled bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes or until double in size.
  5. Knead in and release the air, then form small balls.
  6. Dust in your work surface and roll the balls in desired circles.
  7. Heat the skillet and place the rolled dough on it. Let it cook for 1 minute then turn on the upper part to cook for another minute.
  8. Smear butter and serve.

Repeat with the rest of the naans and serve. Naan is a traditional flat bread from India, while pita bread is eaten in the Mediterranean and Middle East. Pita is made with a very simple dough, using just flour, salt, yeast, and olive oil, while naan dough has ingredients like yogurt and egg that help keep it soft and fluffy. Naan is a flatbread found in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and other surrounding countries. Naan is served for dipping or stuffed with a variety of meats and vegetables.
