  2. Prepare 2 Cups Oat Flour

  6. Prepare 1 tbsp Chilli powder
  7. Make ready 1 pinch hing
  8. Make ready 3 tbsp butter
  9. Take 2 Cups hot water
  10. Take Oil for deep frying

Just like kambu murukku, this too was a surprise for me to turn out good than I expected. In our place, diwali means it is murukku. Each year amma makes two types of murukku, mullu murukku and thenkuzhal. But as a food blogger, i like to explore.

Steps to make Ragi Murukku:
  1. Mix all the flours thoroughly
  2. Add Salt, ajwain+jeera powder, chilli powder to the flour along with hing.
  3. Add butter and mix the flour so that no lumps are formed
  4. Now, knead the dough with hot water. Rest the dough for 5mins
  5. Grease Murukku maker, fill it with the dough and make Murukkus by deep frying them in oil. (for a more healthy recipe, we can even bake them)
  6. Murukkus are ready… munch onnnn….

This one is my recent discovery, it is made with ragi flour so it is healthy as well. In a broad vessel put ragi flour, rice flour, half cup pottukadai powder, red chilli powder, asafoetida powder, white til seeds, butter or ghee and salt. Finger millet murukku, crispy murukku using ragi finger millet flour, perfect for Deepavali. I have tried savory recipes using ragi flour.
