Instant rice flour murukku is the one that uses only rice flour as the main ingredient. Usually, we add urad dal flour, besan, or pottukadalai flour for making murukku. We call this as Arisi murukku in Tamil. The murukku turned out very crispy and tasty.

Instructions to make Rice Flour Crispy Snack (MURUKKU):
  1. Take rice flour in wide bowl. Add sesame seeds, ajwain, hing, butter and salt. Mix it together using hands like crumble mixture. Now add water little by little and mix it like a dough. Don't add too much water it will go runny. Dough should be soft and pliable.
  2. For this particular snack we have to use star mould. - Set mould in murukku maker, fill with murukku dough and close the lid.
  3. Now heat oil in wide kadai, oil should be in piping hot drop a little dough inside the oil the dough should rise immediately. This is the correct temperature to drop the murukku.
  4. Press the dough to the shape that shown in the picture on back of the flat laddle or you can use polythene sheet.
  5. Drop this carefully in the oil and cook both sides. Drain the excess oil and let it cool completely before serving.
  6. Healthy crunchy snack is ready. You can store this in air tight container.

Crispy Butter Murukku Recipe, a crispy and buttery murukku made from rice flour and besan. Murukku is one of our fav snack which we make often with different variations. But, i never tried adding besan. I saw this recipe in one of my Tamil cookbook and made slight variations. I told him that I got an award when little one loves the snack.
