Add in vanilla and salt and continue beating till whites stand in stiff peaks. Using the back of a spoon, pull up the meringue to form swoops and spikes on each mound.

  6. On a low flame melt jam with water and pour this onto the baked bread.
  7. Beat egg whites with 0.25 cups of sugar until it becomes stiff (very important)!!
  8. Spread the egg white mixture onto the jam layer, garnish with some chopped nuts and bake in oven for 25mins until the meringue turns golden brown.
